From an Engineering degree via a career in Finance to CEO

After studying engineering at University I decided that I was more interested in business and finance and qualified as an accountant. After a number of years I moved from pure accountancy through various commercial finance management roles mostly in technology organisations, in both hardware and software. I have worked and lived in the UK, Europe and China finally settling in Australia in 2008. I joined PageUp in 2011 as Chief Operating and Financial Officer and have since played a major role in building and expanding the PageUp group to where we are today. In 2019, after the founders retired from the business I took over as CEO.

I work with the team to drive the direction and culture of PageUp.

My role is to work with the leadership and broader organization to set the vision and strategy for the business. I am then responsible for ensuring we have the best team of people who are resourced correctly to execute on our goals. My role is also to ensure that we create the right environment so all our team can feel empowered to do their best work in a supportive and inclusive work space where they can continue to develop their skills and feel challenged. Finally, I am also responsible to the PageUp Board and shareholders to deliver on the plans that we have agreed and to manage the business risks appropriately.

PageUp's solutions help our customers across the world with one of the key challenges that organizations face - hiring and retaining the best people. Helping them get the right person in the right role in the most effective manner while providing a great experience for the candidate/employee and the hiring manager is a great thing. Working with our motivated, smart and talented team achieve this across customers in many countries and industries is very exciting. The world is moving fast and the last few years have seen the dynamics in the recruiting and talent space change rapidly. Seeing the way our team respond to this and help our customers innovate their practices using the PageUp solutions is really exciting and satisfying.
