In the Support Team at eArcu, we have a 3-week training and induction agenda. This consists of a mix of articles and policies to read, peer-to-peer training, self-learning, and induction meetings with all the team managers. The training is conducted in our test environment, where there are tasks and dummy tickets to complete to assist with the training. This helps in understanding the basics of the role and gaining insight from all the team managers about the various roles.
Learning the basics and key features of the ATS (Applicant Tracking System) in the support team role typically takes 3-6 months. For most team members, it is not until around the 1-year mark that they have a good understanding of the system and can support tickets on their own. This is due to the system being bespoke and customized for each client.
The training plan, assistance from the team, and bi-weekly check-ins have proven to be valuable and helped to make learnig the role eaiser.
